I'm Emiliyan and I am an AI-holic! I've been building enterprise systems for more than 15 years, for companies where mistakes are expensive. SAP, ERP, planning, accounting. I am also a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA, UK).

I also grew up around family businesses. My parents have run a four-person travel agency together for decades, and I was their internal IT support for many years. The agency is still running, and my father has started another small business since. I think I understand small business despite the enterprise career path.

AI is the most fascinating wave I've seen in my life. And here's the part most people misunderstand. It doesn't favour the big players this time. Enterprises take the headlines. Small and family businesses are the ones that can actually move fast.

Big businesses are bound by policies, by clients and users they can't disrupt, by large workforces resistant to change, by unions, and by risk committees. Small businesses have none of that.

Small businesses can hire a team of expert AI agents in days. Reshape how they run in weeks. Operate with the reach of a much bigger company while staying small. That used to be impossible. With the right guidance, it isn't anymore.

Right now I am building the platform for it: AgentQuilt, a governed home for a team of AI agents, with memory that lasts, roles and permissions, approvals with undo, and a proper audit trail. The discipline comes from my enterprise years; the size does not. My parents' travel agency could run it, and so could a company with a risk committee.
