I’ve spent over 15 years building enterprise software for companies where errors can be expensive. I’ve never seen anything like what’s happened since December 2025. AI has gone from a fun image tool to something that can actually run businesses.

Most demos skip over the important but less exciting details. For an agent to do real work in a business, it needs memory that lasts beyond one chat, clear permissions, approvals before anything goes out, and a clear record of what happened and how to revert it. Big companies have required this for years in their solutions. Small businesses need it too, but they rarely get tools built for them.

That’s what I’m working on now. AgentQuilt is an open-source platform that lets a team of AI agents work together with all that structure built in, whether your company has four people or four thousand. It’s still early days, but I am doing it in the open.
