Full Story

From my teenage years I was always split between accounting and computers. As many teenagers I was very passionate in computers and especially computer games in those days. Had several awards (1st and 2nd places) from national tournaments in WarCraft 3 (Real Time Strategy Game) and good placements in international events in a team play. In the mean time I graduated from high school with field of study Economy and Management where my favorite subject was accounting.

I thought a lot about what will be my next education in University whether it should be IT or Accounting degree. In the end, I decide to go for Accounting in University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria with Field of Study – Financial Control.

My first job was as a sales representative for a young company selling industrial HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning) solutions. It was not the best job for me, but I learned a lot about Business processes like Purchase Management, Sales Management, and Warehouse Management.
My next job was a trainee in accounting and controlling department in Festo Production which is part of Festo Group. Festo is International Company with second market share in the world in his field – industry automation and pneumatics. I was working there in project related to Activity Based Costing and was involved in other work related to the department.

In the mean time, I was a bit disappointed with the level of education in University and started to look for international recognized qualification in Financial and Management Accounting, which could add more value to my professional development. After several months of research, I decided to go with CIMA UK (The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants). It gave me a lot of Business knowledge and understanding as well as advanced training in Financial and Management Accounting.

One month after the traineeship’s end I had an offer from the company to join their accounting team. It was 2007 when for the first time I met SAP ERP Software. From then on I was always interested in SAP software and SAP consultancy. During my stay in the company, it was my pleasure to help other coworkers to learn and find ways to ease their job.

One and half years later, I had the chance to join the controlling department. Combination of CIMA & interest in SAP gave me potential to work on a wide variety of accounting and controlling projects. For four years I had the chance to gain understanding and practice in: internal and external reporting, product costing and pricing, cash flow management, internal control systems and many other things related to financial management as a whole.

In the last year and a half of my work as a Financial Controller, I did several hobby projects related to websites. I created and managed them with the help of Joomla and WordPress platforms. During the passionate journey with building websites,  I acquired basic PHP, HTML, CSS and SQL skills.

At some point, after a lot of consideration, I decided the best thing I could do is to pursue a career in ERP Consulting where the combination of my financial background and enjoyment in IT technologies would add more value than everything I did before.

In 2012 I became an ERP Consultant in one ERP Consulting Company, which was implementing and supporting OpenERP and OpenBravo (open source ERP systems) as well as providing support to large enterprises using SAP. I had the chance to see the whole process of implementing OpenERP. That gave me insight of processes related to Sales Management, Warehousing, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and how they are interacting with Accounting for internal and external needs.

After that I have worked as SAP Financial Process Manager in one of the biggest FMCG Retailers in the world. There I learnt a lot about business processes in FICO. It was a great and valuable experience. The work amazingly well to my characters, skills, knowledge and passion.

After some debate and research, in 2015, I decided to take an opportunity to dive into BPC. I think BPC is the perfect SAP product for me as it fits even better with my knowledge, skills and interests for personal development.

In July 2015, I have successfully passed SAP BPC Certification, and till the end of 2015, I was working as BPC Support Consultant. In January 2016, I moved to the UK and became an SAP BPC Consultant for one of the largest BPC specialised consultancy companies in Europe, if not the largest.
